About UMBRA
Following the success of Ashton’s solo exhibition Journey To The Neverlands, he presents UMBRA —a series observing a man who finds himself standing at the darkest point within a shadow cast over him.
A place so devoid of light, he cannot see his feet beneath him, nor the ground that bears the weight of the world resting on his shoulders. He stares into the abyss, while it stares back at him with quiet intrigue.
Beyond the void lies God’s work—the divine, the majestic, the magical. Sprawling plants, vibrant landscapes, and all of nature’s charm dominate the world around him—yet he is so enamoured by the lure of the abyss, this vacuum, this shadow, that he cannot see or fathom the blessings that surround him.
A series created to inspire gratitude and appreciation for the blessings we are surrounded by, yet so often fail to acknowledge.
About Ashton Springer
Ashton Springer is an artist and creative wellbeing advocate. He specialises in maximalist art and optimising strict daily habits and routines to strengthen his mind and fortifying resilience and the ability to focus in his creative pursuits. Ashton lives a life inspired by minimalism, built on creativity and powered by routine and discipline.
The Location
Ashton Springer has teamed up with Sara Dahlgren, the owner and creative mind behind ALICE Hair and Art—a modern hybrid of hairdressing studio and art gallery. Situated in the heart of Stockholm, the space provides the perfect setting to host Ashton Springer’s second solo exhibition, UMBRA.
